Compatible Models
This ECM applies directly to the following vehicle line:
- Chevrolet Chevy C2 with engine – Years of manufacture between 2004 and 2009
These units use a sequential multi-point electronic fuel injection ignition and fuel system, managed by a GM ECU that maintains full control over the powertrain under the OBD-II standard.
Electronic functions of the ECM module Chevrolet Chevy C2
- SFI (Sequential Fuel Injection) electronic fuel injection
- DIS ignition (distributorless, independent coils)
- EVAP system control and canister valve
- Fuel pump relay activation
- Idle speed regulation using IAC valve
- Monitoring of CKP, CMP, TPS, MAP, ECT and HO2S sensors
- Radiator fan control
- OBD-II communication and DTC code generation
Distribution of key terminals of the Chevrolet Chevy C2 ECM
The module has two connectors:
- Connector A: 32 pins
- Connector B: 32 pins
The following are some terminals relevant for diagnosis:
| Connector | Pin | Function | Expected Voltage |
|---|---|---|---|
| A | 20 | Direct battery power | 12V |
| A | 8 | Power supply under switch | 12V |
| B | 12 | Earth system | 0V |
| B | 28 | CKP sensor (crankshaft position) | AC wave signal |
| A | 7 | TPS (Throttle Position Sensor) | 0.5V to 4.5V |
Sensors monitored by the ECU
Main sensors
- CKP – Crankshaft sensor (ignition and injection)
- CMP – Camshaft Position Sensor
- TPS – Throttle Position Sensor
- MAP – Manifold Pressure Sensor
- ECT – Coolant Temperature Sensor
- HO2S – Oxygen sensor (pre-catalytic)
- IAT – Air Temperature Sensor
Managed actuators
- Sequential injectors
- DIS type ignition coils
- IAC valve (idle air control)
- Canister valve (vapor purge)
- Fuel pump relay
- Radiator fan
Basic tests with a multimeter

1. Power supply verification
- Pin A20: It must have 12V at all times.
- Pin A8: 12V when the key is turned to ON
- Pin B12: Ground – should read 0V
2. Sensor reading
- GST: 0.4V at rest, up to 4.5V at full load
- MAP: 1.0V at idle – 3.5V under acceleration
- ECT: 3.0V when cold – 0.5V when the engine is hot
- HO2S: Oscillation between 0.1 and 0.9V
Diagnostic tips
- Always confirm power and ground before replacing the ECU
- A fault in the CKP sensor can cause a lack of spark and fuel injection.
- The EVAP system should be checked for leak codes (P0440–P0455)
- The pump relay activates for 2 seconds when the key is turned.
- Use an OBD-II compatible scanner to review data and clear DTCs
Important technical notes
- The shared grounding system can generate multiple faults if there is resistance in the circuit
- The computer may exhibit intermittent faults if there is unstable voltage during startup.
- Sensor signal pins must be measured accurately; avoid testing with damaged wires.
